Adam

Adam

I remember when I was only eight or so years old walking through the horse pasture to the woods with my dad. Adam, the big ornery horse, never missed the opportunity to trot over and investigate us. He reared, bucked, and kicked the air and almost always tried to bite. He loves food and anything else he can fit in his mouth. Today we’re best friends who experienced our first horse show together and hopefully many more to come.
Breed: American Quarter Horse
Birthday: May 1999
Warning! Will most likely bite.

I could never imagine meeting a horse remotely similar to Adam. There is no bounds to his unique and dangerously creative character. Above all he loves food and anything else capable of coming into contact with his mouth. Given the chance he would spend the remainder of his life grazing a full pasture down to green stubble. When I first became Adam’s owner in 2007 he had severe obesity and foundered frequently. (Now he lost some weight with the help of a grazing muzzle -yay at last!) It took a couple years of Lamina Saver medicine and restricted grazing to improve his health. In addition his destructive behavior lessened. Finally, I feel proud to announce Adam made it through the entire year of 2011 without foundering once! We even competed in the county fair and horse show!
